The Art of Beer Launches March 14 at Ballast Point Little Italy
Designed as an intentional alternative to large-scale beer festivals, The Art of Beer highlights not only what’s in the glass, but also the design, storytelling and people behind each brew. The event blends limited-release tastings, label-art presentations and direct access to brewers in a more intimate, art-forward setting.
Participating breweries include: 3 Punk Ales Brewing Co., Coronado Brewing Company, Fall Brewing Company, Harland Brewing, Pizza Port, Societe Brewing Company, Stone Brewing and more for a total of 10, all selected for their influence and contribution to the local craft beer community.
“We created The Art of Beer to highlight the craftsmanship and originality that define great brewing,” said Jeff Lozano, Director of Brand Experience for Ballast Point. “This is an inaugural event, and we’re starting in San Diego because the culture here truly sets the standard.”
The main event runs from 1:00–4:00 PM, with a VIP early-access hour from 12:00–1:00 PM featuring exclusive pours, curated food pairings and a straight-from-the-source “Bright Tank” tasting experience rarely available to the public.
Ballast Point Little Italy will host the inaugural event, transforming its space into immersive tasting rooms and art installations. Each brewery will showcase multiple beers, including rare or limited releases reserved for VIP guests. Attendees will vote for their favorites throughout the afternoon, with awards announced near closing.
“Coronado Brewing is beyond excited to be a part of the first-ever Art of Beer event,” said Chris Sartori, Head Brewer at Coronado Brewing Co. “We believe that it truly represents and embodies what craft beer is and will become; it also pays homage to the collaborative spirit of San Diego Craft beer and its rich culture.”
Following its San Diego debut, The Art of Beer is planned to expand to Ballast Point’s additional California locations, including Anaheim, Long Beach and San Francisco.
Tickets are $30-off for a limited time, which means General Admission tickets are $29 (vs. $59), and VIP tickets are $99 (vs. $129) for early purchasers. BONUS: VIP tickets include a $100 post-event self-guided tasting tour of all 10 participating breweries.
