About the Author

Maria Desiderata Montana is a writer and photographer, and the author of several successful San Diego food books. She owned and published the food blog, San Diego Food Finds, and was a contributing food journalist for the San Diego Union-Tribune, with her own monthly recipe column. She has also been widely published in various newspapers and magazines, where she has written a wide variety of food and entertainment stories as well as her own monthly recipe column. She has guest appeared on local radio and TV to share her knowledge of food and cooking, and regularly assists celebrity and high-profile chefs with cookbook projects.
