Celebrate the magic of the season in San Diego, where sunny days, tranquil beaches, and welcoming coastal resorts create the perfect holiday escape. Evans Hotels invites guests to make merry at the Bahia Resort Hotel and Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa on Mission Bay, and The Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla. Each resort will be beautifully adorned with festive décor and offer an array of seasonal activities, indulgent feasts, and joyful experiences to brighten every stay.
Seasonal Splendor
The Lodge at Torrey Pines’ warm, Craftsman-style design sets the scene for a truly enchanting winter escape. Guests are welcomed into a holiday wonderland, where a grand Christmas tree adorned with pinecones, manzanita branches, woodland owls, and tartan reindeer glimmers. Fragrant garlands grace the mantel and the comforting scent of white cedar from the crackling fireplace fill the air, creating an atmosphere of timeless seasonal charm.
The Bahia Resort and Catamaran Resort Hotels will celebrate the season with delightful Gingerbread House displays handcrafted by their talented team members, inviting guests to vote for their favorites. Adding a tropical twist to the tradition, the Catamaran showcases festively decorated Hula Huts that capture the resort’s signature island spirit—complete with a Polynesian-inspired Christmas tree adorned with parrots, tikis, and vibrant floral leis.
Step into the season at the Bahia, where midcentury holiday magic comes to life. The lobby will brim with retro cheer—from a shiny 1950s aluminum Christmas tree and vintage TV set to the famous leg lamp from A Christmas Story—all sure to bring out your inner kid again. Guests can also watch Family Holiday Movie Classics in the lobby December 12-25 (3-7 p.m.).
Holiday on the Bay
All aboard the William D. Evans sternwheeler for the beloved Jingle Belle Cruises—a sparkling San Diego holiday tradition on Mission Bay! Guests can join friends, family, and Santa Claus for a festive voyage filled with twinkling décor, cheerful carolers, holiday cocktails, homemade cookies, kids’ crafts, and photos with Santa and his helpers. Cruises depart from the Bahia Resort December 20, 22-24. Tickets are $45 per person, with a portion of proceeds supporting Mama’s Kitchen, a San Diego nonprofit that provides medically tailored meals to individuals and families vulnerable to malnutrition due to critical illnesses. Reservations required.
Jingle all the Way
Guests can sing along to island-infused holiday tunes at the Catamaran Resort, featuring live performances by the Polynesian Carolers on Fridays and Saturdays (5-7 p.m.), December 5-27. Guests at The Lodge at Torrey Pines can enjoy the merry melodies of Holiday Carolers, December 5-6, 11-13, 18-20 (5-8 p.m.) while savoring mulled cider and fruitcake.
Mingle with Kris Kringle
Straight from the North Pole, Santa Claus will visit the Catamaran Resort on Saturdays, December 6–20 (2–4 p.m.), to meet young guests and hear their holiday wishes—perfect for a festive family photo!
The jolly man himself will also spread cheer at The Lodge on December 17 and 24 (5–6 p.m.) with merry sing-alongs. Kids can drop off their letters to Santa all season long at special Letter Stations in the Bahia, Catamaran, and The Lodge lobbies, complete with oversized mailboxes.
Kids Play
Guests of all ages can tap into their creative side with Gingerbread House Decorating at The Lodge at Torrey Pines every Saturday, beginning on November 29, and Holiday Cookie Decorating ($15 per decorator) at the Catamaran Resort on December 6, 13, 20 and 27.
Throughout December, kids at the Bahia Resort can join an Elf on the Shelf Scavenger Hunt, a seasonal twist on hide and seek. Find the magical elf and win a holiday prize!
And guests checking into The Lodge’s new Reserve Firepit Rooms this Christmas Eve are in for a sweet surprise – a holiday stocking stuffed with a hot chocolate kit to enjoy fireside under the stars!
Holiday Feasts and Treats
A delightful Taste of the Season awaits visitors to The Lodge at Torrey Pines in December. Guests can sip and savor a variety of tempting treats like a hot chocolate station on December 5, boozy holiday eggnog on December 12, and Glühwein classic German mulled wine on December 19 and 26.
Gather with family and friends for lavish holiday feasts at all three resorts. The Catamaran will host Christmas Eve Dinner (5:30-10 p.m.) with a curated three-course meal at Oceana Coastal Kitchen, as well as a Christmas Day Champagne Brunch (10 a.m.-4 p.m.) featuring a delicious holiday buffet spread with a seafood cold bar, sparkling wine, and live entertainment. The Bahia presents Christmas Eve Dinner and Christmas Day Brunch at Dockside 1953 with an a la carte menu of scrumptious holiday offerings.
The Lodge will create unforgettable holiday dining experiences at both of its restaurants, including a prix fixe three-course Christmas Eve Dinner (5-8:30 p.m.) and Christmas Day Dinner (12-8 p.m.) at A.R. Valentien featuring a welcome drink and delicious takeaway gift from the pastry chef. The Grill at Torrey Pines will serve a Chimney Roasted Prime Rib Christmas Eve Dinner (5:30-10 p.m.) and Christmas Day Dinner (11:30 a.m.-10 p.m.).
New Year’s Cheers
Revelers can ring in 2026 beachside at the Bahia Resort with a prix fixe New Year’s Eve Dinner Dockside 1953 (5-10 p.m.), followed by a chic a la carte Cotton Candy and Bubbles soiree for resort guests (9:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m.) on the patio of Bianchi restaurant, featuring a prosecco bar, DJ, and cotton candy.
Oceana Coastal Kitchen joins the revelry with a prix fixe New Years Eve Dinner (5:30-10 p.m.), featuring a champagne toast and live entertainment.
At The Lodge at Torrey Pines, guests can bid farewell to the year in style with an exquisite five-course New Year’s Eve tasting menu at A.R. Valentien (5:30-9:30 p.m.) complete with a special chef’s giveaway surprise. The celebration continues on New Year’s Day at The Grill, where a festive Holiday Brunch awaits (11:30 a.m.-5 p.m.), complemented by a mimosa and bloody mary bar.
