The 8,000 square foot multi-level complex is kid and dog friendly and surrounds an enormous LED Jumbotron perfect for viewing sporting events.
City Tacos: San Diego and tacos go hand in hand, literally and figuratively, and City Tacos has a taco for everyone with more than 20 selections on the menu, including those for vegetarians and vegans. They’re budget friendly, too, with nearly every taco on the menu less than $5.00. Now with six San Diego locations, including the beach towns of Encinitas, Ocean Beach, and Pacific Beach, favorites include the Mexicali with grilled angus steak, onions & poblano peppers, and mashed potatoes; the Portobello; and the Friars Fish Taco in honor of the San Diego Padres. Traditional tacos like carnitas, pollo asado, quesibirria, and carne asada are always available, as well as a rotating taco of the month.
Sandbar: Conveniently located in Mission Beach, Sandbar is ideal for families looking to wind down after a day in the sun. The kids’ menu features favorites like Cheeseburgers, Mini Corndogs, and Grilled Cheese. Kid’s entrees include a drink and choice of side, which include fruit, tortilla chips, fries, or tater tots. Adults can try some of their famous tacos, such as the award-winning TKO Tacos, or the Beach Tacos, where you select the protein to be added to tasty toppings.
The Smoking Gun: With its retro vibes and lively atmosphere, The Smoking Gun in the Gaslamp is a hit for family dinners. Kids can dive into Chicken Nuggs and crispy fries while enjoying the dozens of arcade games! Adults can enjoy dishes such as the Butter Burger and the Street Corn Skillet, and indulge one of their delicious cocktails. It’s a fun, casual spot to enjoy a meal before Padres games. Best of all, enjoy access to their arcade complete with longtime classics and newfound favorites. Arcade play is ½ off Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.!
The Whiskey House: The Guinness World Record holder for Most Variety of Whiskeys Available at a bar or restaurant with more than 4,000 brands from all over the world. The downtown spot has become quite the tourist destination; some people come in just to grab a picture and say they were there. And some say The Whiskey House "feels like a little piece of NYC in San Diego.” The happy hour is seven days a week from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. (good luck finding a seat), featuring a $10 house-ground burger with hand-cut fries, and brunch service is available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
George's at the Cove: A San Diego legacy restaurant in La Jolla that overlooks the Pacific Ocean and coastline, George's at the Cove celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2024 and its Partner/Chef Trey Foshee is a former Food & Wine magazine Best New Chef honoree. Reservations are strongly recommended, especially at sunset times. Enjoy local seared rare yellowtail, local swordfish, and other seafood selections like Wild Isles Salmon. Steak, short rib, chicken, and duck are also on the menu. George’s was voted as “Best Patio Dining in San Diego” by readers of San Diego Magazine in its Best Restaurants in San Diego 2025 poll.
